Pelvic floor training

Pelvic floor exercise aids Phase I active & Phase II

Application

When should I use the Phase I active pelvic floor training aids and when should I use the Phase II pelvic floor training aids?

ELANEE pelvic floor exercise aids Phase I active naturally promote the perception and conscious muscle control of the pelvic floor and strengthen the weakened pelvic floor muscles. As soon as you are able to perceive your pelvic floor muscles well and are satisfied with the condition of your pelvic floor muscles (you do not necessarily have to be able to hold the heaviest cone to do this), a permanent follow-up training with the Phase II pelvic floor exercise aid is recommended in order to maintain muscle strength and prevent further slackening.

What is the difference between the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I and Phase II?

The two training aids differ in their application and function. The effect of Phase I active is based on the biofeedback principle, which means that with the vaginally inserted cones of Phase I active, the aim is to actively prevent slipping out by actively tensing the pelvic floor muscles. The vaginal cone of phase II, on the other hand, does not slide out, but remains inserted throughout the application and passively stimulates the pelvic floor by means of silent vibrations. The two white contact surfaces on the cord side of the cone and the stimulation islands help to transmit the vibrations particularly well.

I can't hold even the lightest cone, should I keep trying anyway?

In this case, we recommend doing the exercises from the exercise booklet without the cone inserted, or doing the exercises lying down or at an angle (from page 6). In this case the whole weight of the cone does not press down. By carefully pulling on the tape you can find out the “right” resistance for yourself. However, in such cases you should consult a doctor to rule out a cause other than a weakness of the pelvic floor for your complaints.

How deep should I actively insert the cones of the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I ?

Insert the cones vaginally as deeply as possible with your index and/or middle finger, similar to a tampon. Do not use any other objects or aids for insertion to avoid injury. Tip: The use of lubricant makes it easier to insert the cones! Please note, however, that this can make training more difficult, as the cone slides out more easily.

How does pelvic floor training with the cones of the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I active and Phase II exact work?

The ELANEE pelvic floor exercise aids Phase I active consist of a set of four cones with different weights. When a cone is inserted into the vagina, it slides downwards due to its own weight and special shape. This feeling of “losing” causes the pelvic floor muscles to contract in order to prevent it from slipping out (biofeedback phenomenon). This contraction or tensing promotes the perception of the pelvic floor muscles and strengthens them. This is why a slight sensation of pain in the pelvic floor area can also occur at the beginning of the training session (muscle ache). As the training progresses, the pelvic floor muscles are usually tensed and relaxed increasingly actively themselves. Depending on the condition of a woman’s pelvic floor muscles, the appropriate weight is chosen for the first training session (see instructions for use). Depending on the success of the training, the weight is then increased as long as the woman is individually satisfied with the result. Only when the pelvic floor has been trained does the Pelvic Floor Training Aid Phase II come into play. The ELANEE pelvic floor exercise aid phase II remains in place during the entire training. It consists of two hollow bodies which are connected by a wide bar. Both hollow bodies each contain a freely swinging ball. With each movement, the balls on the inside swing against the outer wall of the hollow body and generate a slight vibration. This vibration is transferred directly to the pelvic floor muscles. This stimulates and activates the muscles. The ELANEE pelvic floor exercise aid phase II is a pure training device that should only be used when the pelvic floor can already be consciously perceived and is trained (see phase I active).

How long and how often should I actively train with the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I every day?

For the best possible build-up of muscles, it is advisable to exercise twice a day (morning and evening) for about 10 minutes each. The recommended training time should not be exceeded, as this can lead to sore muscles.

Can I use the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I actively during pregnancy?

During an unproblematic pregnancy, training with the cones can strengthen the pelvic floor and prevent any subsequent problems. In case of vaginal infections, inflammations or complaints in the intimate area as well as in case of a problem pregnancy, the use of the pelvic floor training aids should be avoided.

Active training with the pelvic floor exercise aids Phase I active is useful for women of all ages:

  • during pregnancy to reduce, correct and prevent bladder weakness (due to stress incontinence)
  • after birth to prevent pelvic floor weakness and to support regeneration
  • during or after the menopause
Can I actively use the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I immediately after birth?
No. After a birth, pelvic floor exercises should only be started after consultation with your doctor or midwife. This is because it must be ensured that injuries and scars resulting from childbirth have healed and that the cervix is closed.
Can I also use the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I active as a wearer of a spiral?
Yes, it is possible to use a coil (intrauterine device) and the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I active at the same time (as well as wearing a cervical cap, contraceptive ring or diaphragm). However, correct positioning must be checked before and after each training session. If in doubt, consult your doctor before using the pelvic floor exercise aids!
Can I actively use the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I when my uterus is prolapsed and can I effectively counteract this?
If the uterus is lowered (as well as if other pelvic organs are lowered), the individual case must be considered. Please consult a doctor for this, as only a doctor can decide on the individually appropriate therapy measures.
Is the lubricant only helpful for inserting the cones or also for training?
The additional use of lubricating gel facilitates the insertion of the cones, especially in cases of vaginal dryness. The lubricant also ensures a more effective workout, as it enhances the natural gliding effect and thus the sliding out of the cones.

Material & disposal

What materials are used for the cones or the cord of the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I active?

The cones consist of a metal core coated with a medical plastic (polypropylene). The retrieval tape consists of a polyamide yarn coated with polyurethane. All materials used are approved for medical use.

Are the materials of the ELANEE pelvic floor exercise aids kind to the skin?

Yes, all materials that come into contact with the skin have been tested as part of a bio-compatibility assessment according to DIN EN ISO 10993-1 (Biological evaluation of medical devices – Part 1).
In the case of the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I, these are actively the return string, the plastic used and the four colours used, and in the case of the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase II, the return string, the two types of plastic used and the colours used.
All materials are completely harmless for the intended use. They are purchased from well-known manufacturers. The currently valid technical data and safety sheets are available for all materials. Within the framework of the purchasing and quality management process, it is constantly checked that only materials are used which exactly meet the specification. The pelvic floor training aids are manufactured entirely in Germany.

How can I dispose of the ELANEE pelvic floor exercise aids phase I active or phase II?

Both products are made of completely harmless materials. They can be disposed of in standard household waste. Please separate the individual components of the packaging according to type and recycle them in the appropriate recycling system. Please observe the local and regional disposal guidelines.

Size & Shape

What size are the individual cones of the pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I active?

The size of the four cones is identical and comparable to the size of a standard tampon. They have a diameter at the widest point of about 2.2 cm and are about 5 cm long without the ribbon.

What weight do the individual cones of the ELANEE pelvic floor exercise aid Phase I active have?

The individual cones have the following weights:

color yellow blue green violet
Weight 20 g 28 g 52 g 71 g

What size is the cone of the pelvic floor exercise aid phase II?

The length of the vaginal cone is 98 mm. The diameter of the upper half is 30 mm, the lower half has a diameter of 35 mm. The smaller diameter of the upper half facilitates vaginal insertion of the cone. The ELANEE Pelvic Floor Exercise Aid Phase II consists of two hollow bodies which are connected by a wide bar. Both hollow bodies contain a freely swinging ball. With every movement, the balls on the inside swing against the outer wall of the hollow body and generate a slight vibration. This vibration is transferred directly to the pelvic floor muscles. This stimulates and activates the musculature. The large contact surfaces of the lower part ensure that the vibrations are transferred directly to the pelvic floor muscles. The 14 stimulation islands provide additional stimulation of the muscles. The wide bridge between the two halves reinforces the counter-swinging of the two balls, thus intensifying the training effect.

What is the weight of the pelvic floor exercise aid phase II?

The weight of the vaginal cone is 44 g. Thus the cone has the dimensions of usual “love balls”. Due to the two white contact surfaces on the cord side and the stimulation islands, however, it looks a little larger.

Seat cushion for pelvic floor training

Where can I find the needle for the hand pump?

There is a small opening in the handle of the hand pump. There it is fastened in a break-proof way.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Breast Pads

Application

Which side of the silk-wool nursing pads should I place on my breast?

The nursing pads are inserted into the bra with the silk side facing the breast. The silk side is marked with a pink thread. The silk and the special knitting technique ensure a good air supply and transport the liquid away from the body.

Can I wash out the breast rings and use them again?

The breast rings are a disposable product. For hygienic reasons, they may only be used once to prevent recontamination and thus promote rapid healing of inflamed nipples.

Support belt

What size support belt is right for me?

For correct sizing, the abdominal girth should be measured according to the adjacent diagram. Note: Put the measuring tape about one hand’s width below the navel and diagonally backwards.

Size S:  under 100 cm
Size M: 100 – 108 cm
Size L:   108 – 116 cm
Size XL: over 116 cm

Nipple balm

Application

Do I have to wash the nipple balm before breastfeeding?
No, because the balm does not contain any problematic substances (e.g. BHT for stabilisation). It complies with the “Regulation on Dietetic Foods”, which applies to infants. The shelf life is guaranteed by vitamin E. Due to the use of LAP-Lanolin (Low Allergen and Pesticide Lanolin) the amount of wool wax alcohols and the pesticide content in the product is extremely low. A proportion of approx. 25% sunflower oil makes the balm particularly smooth (even at low temperatures in winter). Washing off before breastfeeding is not necessary.

Intimate Health

Vaginal pH self-test

Application

The result of the pH test is not clear, what should I do now?
In this case, you should carry out a second test with another vaginal applicator and wait for the results. If the test again shows an unusable result, you are welcome to send us a photo of the two vaginal applicators used ([email protected]). We will gladly help you! If you experience pain or have an unpleasant feeling, please consult a doctor immediately.
What is the normal pH value in the genital area?
The pH value in the female intimate area is between 3.8 and 4.5 in women of childbearing age and is therefore significantly lower than the pH value of the skin (5.5). The increased acid content forms a natural protective shield to prevent the penetration of germs and other micro-organisms and thus infections. In order not to weaken this valuable protective shield, no alkaline products should be used for skin care. Our ELANEE 3.8 pH intimate washing foam is recommended for cleaning.
