Precautionary measures during pregnancy

Pregnancy normally lasts 40 weeks. All births before the end of the 37th week are premature births. Births before the end of the 32nd week are especially critical as there is a highly increased risk of health and developmental disorders. One of the most common causes of premature births are vaginal infections. If they are not detected and treated early enough, the risk of a premature birth is considerably increased. The vaginal ph value often gives an early indication of vaginal infections.

Precautionary measures for non-pregnant women

About 75% of all women suffer under vaginal infections at least once in their life. 20-30% of all women often have vaginal infections with various discomforts such as vaginal itching, burning, dryness, increased discharge, or unpleasant odor. Untreated infections can cause inflammation and infertility. Therefore it is also advisable for non-pregnant women to check their vaginal ph value regularly in order to be able to prevent infections.

The pH test is very easy to use. The built-in indicator strip is to be brought in contact witht the vaginal fluid for a few seconds. Thereafter, the strip has to be compared compared to the colour scale on the foil pouch and the result can be read.
